Nepal’s Men’s and Women’s Teams Advance to Kho-Kho World Cup Finals

Kathmandu – Both Nepal’s men’s and women’s teams have reached the finals of the Kho-Kho World Cup, marking a historic achievement.

In the women’s semifinal held today at the Indira Gandhi Stadium in New Delhi, India, Nepal secured a dominant 89–18 victory over Uganda to advance to the finals. The women’s team has been in exceptional form throughout the tournament, remaining unbeaten in the group stage with victories over Bhutan, Germany, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh. They defeated Iran in the quarterfinals to secure their place in the semifinals. Nepal will now face the winner of the semifinal match between India and South Africa in tomorrow’s final.

Similarly, in the men’s semifinal, Nepal defeated Iran with a commanding score of 72–20 to book their spot in the final. The men’s team overcame a tough group stage, finishing second after an initial loss to India but bouncing back with victories over Peru, Brazil, and Bhutan. In the quarterfinals, they defeated Bangladesh 67–18 to secure their place in the semifinals. Nepal will play the winner of the match between India and South Africa in the men’s final tomorrow.

Both finals, for the men’s and women’s categories, are scheduled for tomorrow, with Nepal aiming to make history by clinching the championship titles.
