World Cup-Winning Italian Goalkeeper Buffon to Arrive in Nepal on Sunday
Kathmandu — Legendary Italian goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon, a World Cup winner, is set to arrive in Nepal this Sunday. He will attend the final match of the third edition of the KP Oli Cup football tournament as the chief guest, an event organized by the National Youth Association Nepal.
According to Niroj Poudel, the Central Secretary of the National Youth Association Nepal, Buffon will land in Nepal on Sunday, and the final match of the KP Oli Cup will take place on Monday at the Dasharath Stadium. Buffon will grace the event as the chief guest.
Buffon also shared a video message expressing his excitement to attend the event. Speaking partially in Nepali, he said:
“Namaste sabai jana lai. Gigi Buffon here. Ma March pahilo sata KP Oli Cup ko final ko chief guest ko rup ma aundachu. Sabailai tyaha bhetaula.”
(“Hello everyone. This is Gigi Buffon. I am coming as the chief guest for the final of the KP Oli Cup in the first week of March. See you all there!”)
Buffon’s visit has created excitement among football enthusiasts in Nepal, as they eagerly await the chance to see the Italian legend in person.
