Nepal Defeats Uganda by One Wicket in Women’s Day Cup Cricket

Kathmandu – Nepal secured a thrilling one-wicket victory against host nation Uganda in its second match of the Women’s Day Cup T20 International Cricket series.

Chasing a target of 76 runs set by Uganda, Nepal reached the total in 19.5 overs, losing 9 wickets. Sano Prabin top-scored for Nepal with 17 runs.

Earlier, after losing the toss, Uganda batted first at the Entebbe Cricket Oval and posted 75/7 in 20 overs. Immaculate Nakisuyi was Uganda’s top scorer with 22 runs. For Nepal, Pooja Mahato claimed three wickets, while captain Indu Barma took two.

In its opening match, Nepal had suffered a six-wicket defeat against Namibia, while Uganda had defeated Hong Kong.

The tournament features four teams—Nepal, Uganda, Namibia, and Hong Kong. Nepal will face Hong Kong tomorrow, followed by matches against Namibia on Falgun 28, Uganda on Falgun 29, and Hong Kong again on Falgun 30.

Each team will play two matches against every other team in the league stage, with the top two teams advancing to the final on Chaitra 3.
