Delhi Capitals Secure Thrilling Victory Over Lucknow Super Giants in IPL Opener

Kathmandu – Delhi Capitals kicked off their Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 campaign with a thrilling one-wicket victory against Lucknow Super Giants.

Chasing a target of 210 runs, Delhi reached 211/9 with three balls to spare. Ashutosh Sharma played a match-winning knock, remaining unbeaten on 66 runs.

For Lucknow, bowlers Shardul Thakur, Manimaran Siddharth, Digvijay Rathi, and Ravi Bishnoi took two wickets each but couldn’t stop Delhi’s chase.

Earlier, after losing the toss and being put to bat at Rajasekhar Reddy Cricket Stadium, Lucknow posted 209/8 in 20 overs. Nicholas Pooran was the top scorer with 75 runs. Delhi’s pace spearhead Mitchell Starc claimed three wickets.

With this win, Delhi Capitals opened their IPL 2025 campaign with two points on the table.
