Munindra Nembang Elected President of Nepali Janasamparka Samiti USA
KATHMANDU / VIRGINIA — Munindra Nembang has been elected as the President of the Nepali Janasamparka Samiti USA, the diaspora wing aligned with the Nepali Congress party.
The election took place during the organization’s 3rd General Convention held in Virginia, marking the first general convention convened by the diaspora committee in 12 years.
In a competitive race for leadership, Nembang secured victory by a margin of 128 votes. According to the final tally released by the election committee, Nembang received 266 votes, defeating his closest contender, C.P. Poudyal, who secured 138 votes. Out of the total registered delegates, 473 votes were cast in the election.
Key Office Bearers Elected
The convention also elected a full executive panel to lead the diaspora organisation for the upcoming term:

Senior Vice President: Binod Bhatta won the post after securing 142 votes.

Vice Presidents: Sanjeev Shrestha (335 votes), Hari P. Sharma (180 votes), Shreeram Thapa (180 votes), and Nima Bomjan (145 votes) were elected to the executive board.

Youth Vice President: Sushil Chhetri emerged victorious with 249 votes.

General Secretaries: Narayan Khanal (204 votes) and Gautam Dahal (184 votes) were elected as the two General Secretaries.

Joint General Secretaries: Arjun Bam (160 votes) and Anita Pariyar (169 votes) secured their positions.

Treasurer: Narayan P. Pokharel won the office with 163 votes.
The Nepali Janasamparka Samiti serves as an official overseas fraternal organization of the Nepali Congress, working to organize non-resident Nepalis across the United States, champion democratic values, and maintain ideological and institutional links between the Nepali diaspora and their motherland.
