Asian Women’s Kabaddi Championship: Nepal Advances to Semifinals After Defeating Iraq

  • Kathmandu – Nepal has secured a spot in the semifinals of the 6th Asian Women’s Kabaddi Championship, currently taking place in Tehran, Iran, after a dominant victory over Iraq.

    In their first group-stage match, Nepal defeated Iraq with a massive score difference of 68-6 in Group B, which consists of Nepal, Iraq, and Iran.

    Nepal is set to face Iran today in its second group match. Meanwhile, Group A includes India, Bangladesh, Thailand, and Malaysia.

    Since the tournament’s inception in 2005, India has won four titles, while South Korea has claimed one championship. Iran has been the runner-up twice, while Japan, Thailand, and South Korea have also finished as runners-up once each.

    In the men’s division, Nepal had previously secured a third-place finish in the inaugural edition of the championship.
