Nepal Police and Army to Face Off in PM Cup Cricket Final

Kathmandu – Nepal Police Club and Tribhuvan Army Club will compete for the title in the Prime Minister Cup One-Day National Cricket Tournament. Army secured its place in the final after defeating Police by four wickets in today’s match at Extratac Oval Ground, Rupandehi. This marks Police’s first loss in the tournament.

Chasing a target of 149 runs, Army reached the total with six wickets down and 54 balls to spare. Vivek Yadav played a crucial unbeaten knock of 41 runs, while Lalit Rajbanshi from Police took four wickets.

Earlier, after losing the toss, Police were put to bat first and were bowled out for 148 runs in 41.4 overs. Captain Dipendra Singh Airee top-scored with 50 runs. Army’s Shahab Alam took four wickets, becoming the second bowler in PM Cup history to reach 100 wickets in the tournament, achieving this milestone in 47 matches. Police’s Lalit Rajbanshi was the first to achieve this feat, reaching 100 wickets in 42 matches.

A total of 10 teams participated in the tournament, with Police and Army finishing in the top two to secure their places in the final, scheduled for Saturday.
