Nepal to Compete in U-19 World Cup Asia Qualifier Under Naren Bhatt’s Captaincy
Kathmandu – Nepal will participate in the ICC U-19 World Cup Asia Qualifier under the captaincy of Naren Bhatt. The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) officially appointed Bhatt as the captain yesterday, with Abhishek Tiwari named as the vice-captain.
The Asia Qualifier for the U-19 World Cup is set to take place in Kathmandu from April 12 to 21. Nepal will compete against Afghanistan, Hong Kong, Oman, and the UAE for a spot in the prestigious tournament. CAN has stated that the final 14-member squad will be selected from the 18 players currently in closed training.
Shakti Gauchan has been appointed as the head coach of the team. Before the qualifiers, Nepal’s U-19 squad is scheduled to play a One Day International series against Afghanistan as part of their preparations.
