Nepal to Host Women’s T20 Tri-Nation Cricket Series with Thailand and the Netherlands
KATHMANDU: Nepal’s national women’s cricket team is set to compete in a T20 tri-nation series, featuring teams from the Netherlands and Thailand. The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) announced that the tournament will take place from January 17 to 25 at the Tribhuvan University Cricket Ground in Kirtipur.
Each team will play against the others three times during the league stage, and the team topping the points table at the end will be crowned the winner.
Nepal will face the Netherlands in the opening match on January 17, followed by a match against Thailand on January 18. Additional fixtures include matches against the Netherlands on January 20 and 22, and against Thailand on January 21 and 23.
This series will mark the first-ever encounter between Nepal’s women’s team and the Netherlands, making it a milestone for Nepali cricket.
In a related development, Nepal’s under-19 women’s cricket team departed for Malaysia yesterday to participate in the World Cup, further highlighting the growing momentum in women’s cricket in the country.
