Nepal–West Indies T20 Series Schedule revised Due to Asia Cup Final

  • KATHMANDU — The schedule of the historic T20 series between Nepal and the West Indies in Sharjah, UAE, has been revised to avoid a clash with the Asia Cup final.

    According to the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN), the second match of the three-game series has been rescheduled. The first match will take place on September 27, while the second game will now be played on September 29, coinciding with the Dashain festival day of Phulpati. It was previously scheduled for September 28, the same day the Asia Cup final will be held in the UAE.

    The third and final match is set for September 30, on the occasion of Maha Ashtami. All matches will begin at 8:15 PM Nepal Standard Time.

    Following the series, the Nepali national team will travel to Oman for the ICC Asia & East Asia-Pacific Regional Qualifier for the T20 World Cup. The tournament will run from October 8 to October 17.

    A total of nine teams — Nepal, Oman, Japan, Kuwait, Malaysia, Papua New Guinea, Qatar, Samoa, and the UAE — will contest for three spots in the 2026 ICC T20 World Cup to be hosted jointly by India and Sri Lanka.

    Nepal will open its campaign against Japan and Kuwait in Group B. The top two teams from the group will advance to the Super Six stage, where they will face four teams from the other groups. The top three sides from the Super Six will secure a place in 2926World Cup.
