Nepal’s Title Dream Remains Unfulfilled

Kathmandu — Nepal’s quest for a maiden international title in women’s football ended in heartbreak once again as they lost 2-0 to Myanmar in the final of the Four Nations Cup at the Dasharath Stadium on Wednesday.

Despite dominating much of the game, Nepal failed to capitalize on their control, allowing Myanmar to secure victory with two quick goals in the second half.

Yu Par Kin gave Myanmar the lead in the 62nd minute, putting Nepal under immense pressure. Just two minutes later, Nepal’s woes were compounded when Geeta Rana accidentally scored an own goal while trying to clear a shot from Win, unintentionally directing the ball into her own net.

Nepal tried to respond, but Rashmi Kumari’s powerful strike in the 70th minute was brilliantly saved by Myanmar’s goalkeeper Myo Myo Myat, denying Nepal a crucial comeback opportunity.

With this loss, Nepal’s dream of winning their first-ever international title remains unfulfilled, prolonging their wait for glory on the big stage.
