PM Directs Swift Upgrade of Kirtipur Cricket Stadium
Kathmandu – Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has instructed the Ministry of Urban Development to expedite the upgrade of Kirtipur Cricket Stadium.
During a briefing at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers in Singha Durbar on Wednesday, PM Oli emphasized the need to accelerate the development of the stadium to meet international standards. He had previously pledged to complete the stadium’s upgrade within 300 days of assuming office.
The ministry informed the Prime Minister that the tender evaluation process for the construction of parapets and floodlights is nearing completion, and a contract agreement will soon be signed.
PM Oli also highlighted the importance of timely budget implementation, as the annual budget is presented in Parliament on Jestha 15 (May/June). Despite the ministry’s progress standing at 19.35% for recurrent expenditure and 12.04% for capital expenditure, he expressed satisfaction with the overall development. However, he stressed that delays in infrastructure projects could impact national productivity and urged authorities to work efficiently.
