Sandeep Lamichhane Disciplined by CAN, One-Match Ban Imposed

Kathmandu – The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has taken disciplinary action against cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane. The action stems from an incident during the Jai Trophy Cricket Tournament held in Birgunj and Janakpur, where Lamichhane disputed an umpire’s decision and made comments on social media.

CAN announced a one-match suspension for Lamichhane from events organized under its purview and has also deducted merit points from his record. According to Article 2.7 of the Code of Conduct, players are prohibited from publicly commenting on CAN, ACC, ICC, match officials, or team-related matters.

The decision highlights CAN’s commitment to enforcing discipline and upholding the integrity of cricket in Nepal.
