Light Snowfall and Rain Likely in Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim Provinces

Kathmandu – The Meteorological Forecasting Division has predicted light snowfall and rain in some parts of Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces today.

• Isolated thunderstorms with lightning and light rainfall are expected in some hilly areas of these provinces.
• In higher altitudes, a few locations may experience light snowfall.

Weather Conditions Across the Country:

• The hilly and Himalayan regions of other provinces will experience partly cloudy weather.
• The Tarai region and Madhesh Province will see mainly clear skies.

Meteorologist Govinda Jha stated that westerly winds and local wind systems continue to influence Nepal’s weather. As it is pre-monsoon season, strong winds are expected in many Tarai regions later in the day, including Janakpur, Bhairahawa, and Biratnagar. Kathmandu Valley and its surroundings may also experience mild wind activity.

Over the past few days, temperatures have been rising across Nepal.

• Maximum temperature in Tarai cities like Janakpur, Bhairahawa, and Biratnagar has reached 35°C.
• Kathmandu’s maximum temperature has climbed to 28°C.
